GO RUN!!!!

I've been a bit lazy the past two weeks, and I am trying not to make this week the third.... I went to the gym yesterday with a friend who KICKED MY ASS, I am so sore today my whole back and stomach (it's awesome)!! So now it's 8:45am, and I am trying to convince myself to go out and run 5 miles. I guess I just wish I had someone to go with, and that I was a little more awake LOL!!!

I should also get it out there that I need to once again get back on track with counting my calories and keeping track of what I eat... snaking has become a huge habit (when my mom buys the BIG bag of gardetto's from Costco... I can't control myself...), but it should really stop. I enjoy working out, and I am going to continue to do it, but I can't really justify ruining my workouts by eating bad things, so..... I am going try to start keeping track as best I can. This is going to be tough.... Maybe if I say that I am starting my new years resolution early it will help to motivate me :)

I wish you lived closer so we could go on runs and other fun things together, and help to motivate each other :( I still have my hopes up that one day it will be possible :)

Alfight, I think I am going to go to the claremont loop.... try to run some of it, but probably walk most of it, it's been a while... wish me luck!!! I will report back after :)

2 hours later.....

I did it!! I sucked it up, and went to the Claremont Loop by myself and tackled that thing!! Well actually, it was more like it tackled me... I haven't ran hills like that in a while, and let me tell you...... OUCH!!!! But, Bellatrix and I had a good time :) She was a trooper!!!!

I am officially a runner

After my 1st Half!
I realized after I got home from work this evening that I hadn't posted a blog updating you about my running in a couple months. Well it's about time for an update!! I can officially say that I am a runner!! I have completed two half marathons, and am at my high milage point in my full marathon training!

After the Disney Half :)
I would love to report that I am running on a daily basis, and have lost a ton of weight, and that running has changed my life. Well, one of those three things is true, running HAS changed my life! I am still the same weight I was when I started, and I am not running as much as I should be. I really do enjoy it, but with my schedule sometimes it is hard to get out there as often as I should. I have been diligent about my weekend long runs with my sole sisters and we are currently at 20 miles. We are working our way down to about 10 miles, and then bringing our bodies back up to 20 before we officially start tapering for the full marathon! I can't believe that I am actually going to accomplish one of my new year's resolutions!! It makes me feel really good about myself that I have stuck with this, and that I will really be doing a FULL MARATHON... 26.2 miles!!! It still blows my mind!

Now, if I would just start loosing some weight, I would be a seriously happy girl!! Any suggestions??

Bellatrix's First Run!

After our first 3.5 mile run
So I really want Bellatrix to be my official running buddy. One of the perks of having a dog is they need to be worked out, which means you will also be getting a workout :) So I decided I am going to start her running asap, and start off with shorter distances and then gradually get her up to longer runs. Today, I wasn't expecting much since it was our first time. I assumed She would want to stop and walk and sniff and go slow, her usual. BUT... I am happy to report that she did AMAZING! She ran with me the whole time. We went 3.5 miles, and I can't wait to go running with her again!

Now, it's off to the nail shop to get a mani/pedi before I leave for the river on Tuesday. AH... I love being pampered :)

Double Digits

I am not officially a runner... that is if I can stick with all this running business :) I ran 10 miles this Sunday, which means I am now running double digits and there is no turning back! The only thing that scares me is that my knee has been really bothering me... Ever since I ran in the Obstacle Course in San Diego when the guy landed on top of my knee and it was bruised and scabbed for like 2 weeks. Now when I run distances it REALLY hurts. Yesterday after my 10 miler I couldn't even walk up the stairs... I better get this figured out before my half marathon in like 2 weeks. I am planning on getting a few knee braces, and figuring out which one is the most comfortable/beneficial. I am also going to be taking some tylenol, ibprofen, and using ice when I get back from my runs. That's everything I can think of that could help my situation aside from going to see a doctor which isn't an option right now since I don't have insurance. FIGURES!

Some good news, soon I will be adding more things to my running schedule :) I have officially decided to run the tinker bell half marathon at the disneyland resort in January. One day, I will run a marathon in Florida at Disney World, but there is no way I can fund that right now.... Anyways, I better get off here so I can get this morning 5 miler out of the way before it is too hot outside!

TTFN-- Ta Ta for now :)

Running

One of the prettier places I have found to run in Rancho :)
So I may or may not have mentioned this before, but I have officially started running. It is hard to believe that I am actually for the most part enjoying it, because #1: I am a water person, land sports are not usually my thing and #2: IT'S RUNNING, who actually enjoys running???? Well I have to admit, I kind of do!!!!

This is something I have been trying to get into for a while now, but was just having a hard time sticking to it... much like I am with most fitness routines I try and hold myself too... But once my best friend Ashley's mom caught wind of my new hobby, she invited me to do long runs with her and her buddies. This was honestly the best thing for me! I run with the girls once a week on Saturday or Sunday, and then I try and get in at least 2 mid week runs. The long runs are keeping me in check, and upping my milage :) It is awesome running with veteran runners, I am learning things so much faster.

So I am happy to report that I have already signed up for 2 half marathons this year, and will soon be registering for a full marathon as well! I plan on documenting this amazing journey right here in my fitness blog, although after I finish the full marathon I might need to change the title of this blog to, I know I can, I know I can! LOL :)
