I am not officially a runner... that is if I can stick with all this running business :) I ran 10 miles this Sunday, which means I am now running double digits and there is no turning back! The only thing that scares me is that my knee has been really bothering me... Ever since I ran in the Obstacle Course in San Diego when the guy landed on top of my knee and it was bruised and scabbed for like 2 weeks. Now when I run distances it REALLY hurts. Yesterday after my 10 miler I couldn't even walk up the stairs... I better get this figured out before my half marathon in like 2 weeks. I am planning on getting a few knee braces, and figuring out which one is the most comfortable/beneficial. I am also going to be taking some tylenol, ibprofen, and using ice when I get back from my runs. That's everything I can think of that could help my situation aside from going to see a doctor which isn't an option right now since I don't have insurance. FIGURES!
Some good news, soon I will be adding more things to my running schedule :) I have officially decided to run the tinker bell half marathon at the disneyland resort in January. One day, I will run a marathon in Florida at Disney World, but there is no way I can fund that right now.... Anyways, I better get off here so I can get this morning 5 miler out of the way before it is too hot outside!
TTFN-- Ta Ta for now :)

ReplyDeleteNeed to start training...what have you been using for your training plan?
YAY! I'm so excited about all of this :) When I very first started I was following a semi-strict plans from this book I checked out from the library. I liked it, because it started out slow, and worked up. It teaches interval running, so I am never over-exerting myself. Now I obviously don't have the book anymore since it was due back at the library... but I do long runs once a week usually on Sunday's with Ashley's mom and 2 others, and I try to do 2-3 5 milers on my own during the week.
